An artist is anyone who can 
take hope and despair 
from their palette 
and translate it
on a canvass
to make it legible 
to the world 
not to see
but reach out 
to people in need 
of acknowledgement 
that others are staying sane 
in a life where fortitudinous hope
shatters the borders 
of illogical.

As rain must say farewell
to their bright skies 
and safe clouds
and journey
to greet our sorry earth,
so too must we 
carry on 
together.
